Yeah idk if I'll ever get to the point I aspire to but it's an important step to think about all the ways I'm stuck in my most angry and adolescent years whenever I decline to believe someone can be as reliable to me as they have already shown to be to others.

In my experience, this response can transform safe spaces into actively dangerous spaces perfect for identifying victims no one will defend or look out for. Unlearning it can benefit not only oneself but also the communal spaces one exists in. That is to say: big ups to you.

As you get older, try to keep an open mind for what younger people enjoy, and engage with it how you can. This is easier the more you do. You'll enjoy a wider band of stuff, younger people who need you will find you more approachable, and you won't turn into a "in my day" grump.
