I mean, she kinda did: she had a binder filled with oppo for every senator she could expect to be grilled by.

not to mention... they're gonna pass a resolution granting themselves powers that the Constitution already grants them...? And it's gonna work better this time somehow?

ha! I saw one about The Donut Man and it's what reminded me of Psalty... but I hadn't heard of the Donut Man and didn't know about any affiliation with Psalty, LOL

Which praise and worship band would Mike Johnson prefer to do the Super Bowl halftime show, wrong answers only

She also did a bunch of garden-variety deflection, which is an entirely different (and lazier and easier to counter) thing.

If anyone's still struggling to understand what this looks like, go watch yesterday's Pam Bondi hearing before Congress. She's a fucking ninja master at it (and a LOT of MOC just repeatedly fell for it).
...Which I guess goes to show that it can be misused as well.

i made a helpful reference
top right: a fractured black rectangle where one half is labeled "autism is bad" and the other side is labeled "FACT CHECK: autistic people are productive members of society".

top left:
WRONG
-negating their frame reinforces it
-starts with what it isn't instead of what it is
- your argument is shaped like their argument

bottom right: large image of Kirby, a pink blob inhaling and the "autism is bad" fragment, labeled THEY'RE DOING EUGENICS

bottom left:
RIGHT
- you eat their frame
-starts with what's actually happening
-contains and explains what they're doing
-your argument is shaped like kirby

I think that's literally what @faineg.bsky.social is saying though: remove cute friendliness as a factor, because of all the things pigs are, cute and friendly they ain't.

ICE isn't uncomfortable with this suggestion that they can't take care of themselves?

would anyone hold it against me if I used one of those AI voice simulators to put Trump's statement in Ted Cruz's voice?

You know you've arrived in the IT business when you take down a major service. Everyone gets their day in the wringer, sooner or later.

...and since the site itself is down (all the more reason to be grateful for @archive.org!)

Awesome! And thank you for the heads up on what you'll be insufferable about (as you should be) in your next conversation w/@karaswisher.bsky.social!

All hail @mkraju.bsky.social. One of the few reporters willing to ask and press on the hard questions.

But have you really fully considered the legal analysis counterpoint "nuh uh"?

They have two days until the next hearing. Plenty of time to whip up some insurrection fodder.

I think I disagree with this. Because a few days ago, I listened to Van Lathan and @timmiller.bsky.social discuss how protest in the 60s only worked because it forced the nation to witness their brutalization, which shocked the public conscience

I don't think todays public conscience can be shocked

Reporters need to stop pushing back on the specific (BS) claim that Dems want healthcare for illegals. While accurate, it misses the bigger picture.
Instead they need to Kirby the frame: Dems are trying to stop Reps from kicking millions of Americans off healthcare.

i made a template you can use to think about what "frame/negation/kirby" looks like for other issues.
For example:

Frame: DOGE is a govt efficiency project to save $

Negation: Actually it made things less efficient and cost $

Kirby: DOGE was a project to break and privatize federal bureaucracy
Top is an empty rectangle with a jagged line in the middle.
The left side is labeled "Frame" "F is happening!"
The right side is labeled "Negation" "F is not true!"
Below is a large image of Kirby, a round pink blob with eyes with a small version of the Frame F shape flying into his mouth. To the right is a large pink rectangle labeled "Kirby" "K is happening, that's why they're saying F"

Is it the kind where you're kinda fine until you need to touch your face for some reason (eg scratch an itch), and realize you can't? I'm not typically claustrophobic, but those moments make a little panic start to stir for me.

I can barely follow lyrics in English, and now you're telling me I have to do it in Spanish, too?

I was so blissfully ignorant back then. I miss thinking I could afford not to care about this kind of shit.
