Is one of the most useful things a Mental Health Professional has ever said to me

I'm going to share a piece of wisdom I've picked up in my vast years on this planet: when a person with a substance use disorder who isn't in long-term recovery tells you "this time" he's going to stop, DON'T BELIEVE HIM.

I had several immediate reactions to this, but this was the most immature thought that sprung to mind.
