My shift from seeing my neurodivergence as needing to be hidden/masked into a positive identity & belonging to a community happened in large part because of #neurodiversity and #disability Twitter, once I became more open I learned that I did know more ND people irl, but I had to become open first 🫶

I was a #NSFGRFP recipient in 2014 and had a hugely positive experience. This program is a valuable investment in training our future leaders in science. It benefits #AllAmericans we should all robustly support this program. #ScienceIsForEveryone #StandUpForScience

Please share with anyone who cares about NSF support for graduate students and take 30 seconds to sign and leave a comment.

The deadline for the 2025 Graduate Research Fellowship Program is about one month away and literally no one can apply. #NSFGRFP

A big thank you to @pbs.org's Emmy-nominated "Healthy Minds" for highlighting neurocomputational research in eating disorders. Such a pleasure to be interviewed by Dr. Jeff Borenstein, who always asks the best questions. @bbrfoundation.bsky.social

How does self control, either too much or too little, effect people w/ an eating disorder? In this episode of @pbs.org's "Healthy Minds", host Dr Jeffrey Borenstein has fascinating discussion w/ Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai's Dr Laura Berner! NOT TO MISS✨ www.thirteen.org/programs/hea...

New findings from my lab in Nature Communications suggest that racial stereotypes can lead the brain's perceptual system to temporarily "see" weapons where they don't exist.

The main thing I learn from academia dot edu is what papers other people with my same name are publishing from e-mails asking ‘is this you?’. sometimes it gets eerily close to relevant topics and I imagine a gathering of all the academic laura bustamantes 🤣
