At my house, I fly a trans flag. I am not trans. The LGBTQIA+ community is scared to fly their flags and then be targeted for violence. So I am. I’m white, cis, well-resourced. If I have to call the police, I’m not worried about getting shot or deported. If you can, fly a flag for your friends.

Once you have replaced the principle of equality before the law with the idea that some people have no rights, you have granted your approval to the idea of an authoritarian government.
