With a birthday so intimately timed with major civic events, it’s no wonder I evolved into a political junkie and grassroots organizer. And looking back, it’s possible that while in utero, government and world events were already staking their claim on me—I was conceived and born in 1968 after all.

With a birthday so intimately timed with major civic events, it’s no wonder I evolved into a political junkie and grassroots organizer. And looking back, it’s possible that while in utero, government and world events were already staking their claim on me—I was conceived and born in 1968 after all.
I am aching for someone to channel the Old Testament prophets—the OG truth tellers—and strike with the flaming sword of language to cut through the cruelty and greed of 21st-century America. I need them to deliver a verbal thrashing that can’t be muted or dismissed as “too political.”
