Putting politics aside, there is ZERO legal justification for invading Venezuela and kidnapping their leader. While I vocally disagreed with attacking Iraq, that had congressional approval. This was a rogue action that violated US and international law.

Despite a statutory deadline requiring all of the files to be released by Dec. 19, 5.2 million documents remain to be reviewed and disclosed. It’s likely that the final public release will not occur until the end of February — one full year after Pam Bondi ordered the release of the records.
For Trump, the Epstein Cover-Up Beats the Truth
As one of her first acts as Attorney General, Pam Bondi wrote a letter to the new head of the FBI, Kash Patel, demanding that the “full and complete Epstein files” be delivered to her office by the ne...

In response, President José Raúl Mulino told our friends at @revealnews.org, “The canal belongs to the Panamanian people and will remain so.”

The Constitution is clear:
Congress has the power and responsibility to authorize the use of military force and declare war. Congress has a duty of oversight. Congress must serve as a check, not a rubber stamp to the President.

On these counts, Congress has failed.

The expiration of ACA subsidies will have "ripple effects," warns @kff.org Exec VP of Health Policy Larry Levitt. "There is years and years and years of research showing that if you don't have insurance...your household finances will be worse, and in fact, you are likely to die sooner." #Velshi
Expiration of ACA subsidies will have ‘ripple effects’ in health care and economy
Since Congress allowed the Affordable Care Act subsidies to lapse at the end of 2025, millions of Americans are starting off the new year with a significantly higher health insurance bill. Some are opting to just go without insurance at all. KFF’s Executive Vice President of Health Policy Larry Levitt tells Ali Velshi that the “combined loss” of the subsidies and Medicaid cuts will have “ripple effects throughout the system.” Levitt adds, “If you increase the number of non-paying patients, people who are uninsured, it's just going to make the numbers that much harder to work for you.”

‘Be a fighter’: Democrat Renee Hardman reflects on landslide victory in Iowa Senate race
Democrat Renee Hardman was elected to the Iowa state Senate last week in a landslide victory. And in the process, she made history as the first Black woman elected to the legislative body and prevented Republicans from regaining a supermajority in the right-leaning state. She said she was able to pull this off by being a voice for all people. “I ran a campaign on affordability, on trying to work with childcare, livable wages, housing,” she said. “I'm going to go up there and fight the good fight.”

‘I wonder why Maduro didn't just offer him the oil’: Mehdi Hasan says Trump strikes were oil-driven
Zeteo’s Mehdi Hasan says the U.S.’s interest in Venezuela is primarily resource based, and that drug trafficking charges against Venezuela’s Nicolas Maduro are a smokescreen for extracting oil from the country. In this way, Hasan says this move is similar to the U.S.’s invasion of Iraq. “The only difference between Donald Trump and his predecessors is that Trump is very open about it. He's very brazen about it.”
