Baby Edgar & baby Oisín for you, in case you missed them. I fell for Edgar's ferocious glare & Oisín's "well, that's another fine mess you've gotten me into" face right away.
Oisín insisted on seeing the eyedrop bottle after I let him out of the burrito
Oisín *hates* being burritoed but his jealous little soul demands

Workers with a migration backgound recorded this powerful poem during the pandemic. They feared the UK and its politicians would soon forget how they helped the country survive. And they were right. Fickle politicians who clapped for them then now call them "strangers".

Still 20% off everything in my shop for a couple of weeks (I think I set it to run to 7/12). Sadly, UK buyers only now.

That's me in the spotlight, losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it

Oisín is insanely jealous that Edgar gets burritoed at least twice a day for antibiotic eyedrops 🙄 had to give him a stern no to stop him being naughty & he's gone off to think about his actions*

*sulk
Instapurr is back online, even during and immediately after having his eyedrops put in. Edgar's been such a good boy and the drops are working. Halfway through the course of drops now #caturday

Overseas-trained doctors leaving the UK in record numbers.

Direct result of racism and insecurity unleashed by major political parties.

Not enough home trained doctors. Takes years and high debt to become a doctor.

A healthcare crisis in the making.

They're also responsible for one of the best emails I've ever received, when the college office sent out a plea for sightings of Professor Biscuit while conveniently forgetting to mention that he was a cat...(I won't comment on how often a similar email might have gone out about human Professors...)

I reckon you can learn a lot about the atmosphere in various Oxford colleges by looking at what they choose to name their cats (courtesy of @oxfordclarion.bsky.social ). We should all aspire to the energy of a Teabag, Isambard Kitten Brunel, or an Admiral Flapjack

"Since the beginning of Trump's presidency, Europe has tried to keep the maverick president onside when his true sympathies have repeatedly reverted to Moscow.

It has been a demeaning and sycophantic spectacle"

Ok BlueSky: what are your favorite history books in terms of sheer page-turning, narrative propulsion? Thinking along the line of Killers of the Flower Moon, etc. Nonfiction chronicles that read like novels or movies.

All good fun & games here. Oisín got jealous because Edgar stayed for a cuddle after I put his eyedrops in so Oisín pounced. So, Edgar swung round & pummelled him into the floor. & I had to break it up because I do not want Edgar's conjunctivitis being passed round. Oisín's gone upstairs in a huff
