Baby Edgar & baby Oisín for you, in case you missed them. I fell for Edgar's ferocious glare & Oisín's "well, that's another fine mess you've gotten me into" face right away.

Threads heard my concerns & offered me a 17 y/o cat with stage one ckd. Thanks. That doesn't bring back awful memories from this time of year 7 years ago at all.
Fuck's sake, threads. Podcasters I watch announced on threads that their lovely cat has died, so I commented to say sorry for their loss. Now, all my threads notifications are dead cat notices from totally random people I've never heard of. Dudes, dead cat posts aren't my hobby, ffs. Ease up.

Still 20% off everything in my shop for a couple of weeks (I think I set it to run to 7/12). Sadly, UK buyers only now.

A small but significant step: Dutch national broadcaster NOS is leaving X.

“The volume of hateful comments and disinformation on X is enormous and flows freely. This also applies under our own posts, meaning we unintentionally contribute to their spread”

There's a bewildering amount of choice. How much would I even need to buy? And is it really necessary when he's been industriously burying all year?

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

All I've got (because we're not American and prone to doing weird things with turkey) is the year all our dog's Christmases came at once when the roof slid off the gingerbread house onto his waiting head. He'd kept the faith & he was duly rewarded.

It's not actually Trump who gains from an uneducated electorate. He'll be dead before plans to make the electorate even more poorly educated really kick in. He's about pushing short-term, brutal hatred. It's Miller & co who gain over the next 25-30 years from destroying education in America
For Trump to succeed he needs an uneducated electorate who will believe his lies. Pay attention to what he’s doing.

Has anyone ever looked into whether there's a connection between America's bizarre & usually (messy and/or dangerous) disappointing turkey defrosting & cooking practices and its descent into fascism?
showed up at a friend's parents house. his mom greeted us at the door with "your father is out back cleaning a biohazard situation around the hot tub. he tried using it to thaw the turkey. it exploded. we're having all sides."

man has a math PhD.

She reported him missing to Houston police. But instead of reuniting them, the city turned him over to ICE.
