We just got the professional photos from our wedding. We quoted Princess Bride in our vows.

So sad to hear about Rob Reiner. RIP.

Just passed a line of vehicles on the Henday who seemed to be protesting...something. With flags and handwritten messages on their vehicles like "Wexit Warriors" and "Say no to digital ID" and "F*** Carney" and "STOP OVER GOVERMEN REACH"...

It's a weird mode of protesting.

Just putting this out there: When GTA6 is released, somebody should create a mod with a mission that involves union-busting at a videogame company.

Kirk just needs a base hit to win it all.

Vladdy, this is your chance to take your place in World Series history.

Go Blue Jays!
November 2, 2025 at 3:18 AM
The Jays' fielding has been something tonight.

Vladdy in particular has made a couple of good ones.

After Jimenez showed bunt 4 times, then Clement stole, Wife asked: "So what happens now?"

Me: "Now he swings."

And oh boy, did he!

After Wroblewski hit his teammate, Springer hit Wroblewski.

These are hockey rules.

Where's the penalty box in that stadium? Maybe we need to hand out a couple of five minute majors...

There's a certain resonance here to some of the fights before the civil war - where Southern states were mad because Northern states were unenthusiastic about sending back fugitive slaves.
A judge in New York State on Friday dismissed a lawsuit by Texas in the first legal challenge by a conservative state against shield laws intended to protect health care providers who send abortion pills to patients in states with abortion bans.
New York Judge Dismisses Texas Challenge to the State’s Abortion Shield Law
The lawsuit was filed against an Ulster County clerk who rebuffed an attempt to enforce a Texas judgment against a New York doctor for sending abortion pills to that state.

Some people watch scary movies on Halloween.

I plan to watch a 3 hour (or more) show featuring a terrifying baseball-bat wielding man named Shohei.

Just drove past a guy crouching behind a car while putting on a balaclava-style mask.

Any other day of the year, I'd find that very concerning.

Fun fact: The border through Lloyd is...wrong.

50 Ave is understood to be the border - the west side of the street is Alberta; the east side is Sask.

However, 110 degrees - where the border is supposed to fall - is actually about 200m east of there. Just east of 48 avenue (where it crosses 16).
My Substack Today: Why is Lloydminster on the border?
It comes down to politics and dividing the power of opponents.

Hot take: The terms imposed by statute on Alberta's teachers (in a way that tramples the rights laid out in the Charter) cannot reasonably be called a "collective agreement". Nor a "contract".

Suggestions welcome, but "mass indenturement" comes to mind.

I look forward to the day when some journalist does this with Jason Kenney from Virginia.

I enjoy Vladdy's propensity to just tap the base with his hands. Reminiscent of the run he scored in Game 3.

Fun fact: Winning a 9 inning game counts just as much as an 18 inning one.

My chocolate lab is trying to convince me that I've forgotten to feed him any meals for the last week, and he's wasting away to nothing.

I personally fed him breakfast this morning. His next meal time is 6pm.

I must be tired, because I'm trying to calculate the total number of outs in this game, and I keep coming to 105. And that can't be right.

When I was a kid, I remember occasionally going to see a double header at Skydome.

They felt long.

They didn't feel THIS long.

The guy cleaning the pitcher's shoe reminds me of someone grooming a horse's foot...

Okay, how about this: Take every baseball that's been thrown this game. Mark one of them, and throw them in a ball pit. The managers then go in the pit, and the first one to find the marked ball wins.
October 28, 2025 at 6:29 AM
That's nine full innings without any runs.
October 28, 2025 at 6:12 AM
I laughed way too hard at this joke...
Someone needs to motion to use time allocation on this baseball game.
