Today's date marks the 75th birthday of Eddie Hazel, whose guitar work with Funkadelic made him legend, with his ten-minute flight on "Maggot Brain" rated among the finest solo achievements on any instrument. A heralded follow-up, "Eric Clapton Can Lick My Balls," remains to this date unreleased.

The Lottery League band 'The Elks' was the only band this non-musician has ever been in. I'm posting these pics for the Cleveland locals that should be able recognize the locations at the time, on this 15th anniversary (see Alt text). Follow link for more locations..

STEVES LUNCH - The Elks were a 2010 Lottery League band that consisted of. Nate Scheible, Matt Jauch, Greg Miller, Chris Rood + Lou Muenz (me). Outside of Greg, I knew all these men previously. Greg sorta became our de facto leader and insisted that I not only be the documentarian of the band, which was my plan, but perform as a musician as well. Long story short, I ended up playing the Theremin and performed with the other guys on stage at the Beachland Ballroom for the ‘Big Show’. There are a couple vids on YouTube of our set and my 'Thereming' wasn’t as awful as I imagined it would be. I spotted three dead birds, either ducks or geese on the riverbank this week. I am far from an expert but I’m guessing that the cause is the bird flu that has been prevalent as of late. I’ve been walking down here several times a week for some years and this is the first time I’ve seen any dead birds laying in the open. The one I photographed was just a couple feet from the path, the other two was on the shore, that is shown on the first photo.
