In the afternoon, we spent time with the @noc.ac.uk team to get hands-on with their Lab-On-Chip systems for DIC and TA — miniaturized chemical analyzers that can perform complex carbonate chemistry measurements.

Never been more motivated to write grants so I can buy all these shiny new toys 💸

We used a shipboard @pyroscience.bsky.social optode setup to log near-surface pH at 2–4 samples/min across the North Atlantic and South Pacific Oceans.

Reef fish, such as this pufferfish in North Bali, contribute to ecosystem function by linking lower and higher trophic levels in coral reef food webs. They are also incredibly cute.
