Criticism of EU continuing to buy Russian fossil fuels is valid - it's a deep hole the EU dug for itself, and is only slowly digging itself out of it.

But Varufakis doesn't want peace. He wants a victory for Putin, which would guarantee that Putin will attack again, as soon as he's ready to.

i assume you're talking about moral failings of people who are victims of catastrophic illness and disability. of course not.
it is the complete moral failing of society, thus govt.
changing society changes govt. that's not going to happen now. who are the Russians in Scotus?

Oh, it's a moral failing, alright. Just not on the part of people who have catastrophic illness and disability.

We don't have to keep living like this

my problem is i live below the poverty line. Actively keeping me priced out of information i might need. Of course mainstream media is a waste i would never pay for anyway. capitalism at its finest. I agree people need payed but punishing poor people is bullshit. but that is the american way.

I know there's no easy solution. But we're in a polycrisis, and I think we have to look at the whole forest, not just each individual burning tree. Part of that is ensuring that people who want to understand what's happening around them confront as few obstacles to that as possible. Ideally, none.

As an ex-journalist, I sympathize.

The problem is that disinformation is free.

If you want to encourage people to do something, you need to make it easier for them than the thing you don't want them to do.

Being informed is already harder than being uninformed, and paywalls exacerbate that.

The 6 thousands ads littering their click-baity sites aren't paying the bills?
YouTube stopped paying their creators?
The paywalls turning away potential new subscribers before they can decide if shelling out money is worth it?

Hrm... maybe someone needs a better business plan.

Unfortunately being informed is for those who can pay for it- those who already have other privileges. It’s a systemic problem that needs bigger solutions.

I will continue to complain about this because I do pay for a number of news sites, but the way information is distributed through news apps makes it frustrating when an article on point isn't inside your particular menagerie of sites. It would be nice if we could have bundles like cable used to be.

When you burn people who cannot get out of the vehicle, and your ceo flashes the Nazi salute who doesn't want to pay for repairs or software updates, yes your product will be in the toilet.

On top of the main gimmick of the autopilot not being road legal in the EU anyways.

Same story happening in the US. So many Pro Maga businesses got ICE Raids due to hiring a bunch of illegal workers since those are easier to exploit

This is also affecting people that disagree with said politicians, since said politicians are going out of their way to block access to anything except their buddies' snake-oil supplements.

Labour are afraid of upsetting the old white geezer class that voted for Leave that are still a powerful voting bloc. Unfortunately Labour are blowing it already politically so there’s no chance they raise rejoining when they can’t solve high taxes and unemployment issues.

Not all of them are bots, the Dems are spineless and doing a great job at disapointing their actual leftwing voters.

Especially when appointing Diet-Maga candidates like Newsom.

More to do with Elon Musk being reminded that there are rules and that they apply to him, Tesla, and Twitter.

He's a petulant school bully pushing his minions to do his bidding.

The EU will exist in 2028. I'm not so sure about the USA.
