Finally saw my first show at Sunset Tavern: Art d’Ecco! Saw an ad, thought he sounded fun, and spontaneously ordered a ticket a day before the gig. He and his band brought the house down with their glam, groovy dance-punk! Hope to see more shows at this venue.

This shot was either over or underexposed, which combined with the color-shifted film stock led to a murky greenish-yellowish-brownish blurring of the scene. It reminded me of aged photos with washed-out tints, and how we filter our memories thru the aesthetics of nostalgic media, shaping the subconscious creation of vague imagery in our dreams.

Black-and-white film photo of a buildings’s exterior windows near its flat top roof. The walls are at odd, extreme angles, so much so that one wing of the building wraps around in the reflections of the windows in the opposite wing of the building. A short wall in the middle connects these wings, with more windows causing a reflection-within-a-reflection of the adjoining longer row of windows. This creates symmetrical framing within in an overall asymmetrical composition.

I usually make image transfers onto wood/canvas panels, but this my first one on loose canvas paper! That layer of silver spray paint under the black-and-white print adds so much depth while maintaining contrast.
