To be clear, I'm an optimist and I think the fall happened but is overstated. But even if there has been a fall, there can be a rebirth. As long as we win big and have the will to power, we can socially engineer a return of democratic virtue. No one has ever possessed the technology we have.

Reminds me of how in 2024, some people were saying that Democrats running on defending democracy was less effective than running on economic issues. I feel like if you can't win on defending democracy, then the spirit is already dead and the country is already fallen.

Okay this might be stupid but after watching that video of Greg Bovino needing to take a piss break, and knowing that certain sounds relax the bladder, has anyone considered playing the sound of urination around these people in the hope that they publicly humiliate themselves

The thing is that the US, like any nation, is whatever we imagine it to be. The idea that it has some fundamental essence which is automatically endorsed by those waving the flag is a product of nationalist ideology. We declare that the US shall be woke, and so it shall be.

Yeah, I'm not going to go so far as to say they should be exempt from social protection, but I do think you can't really reason with someone who denies the foundational basis of collective human existence, and so you have to resort to deterrence and force to keep them in line.
