i regret to say that my initial tonal comparison was to eve online, after the Gestalt slams into the equivalent of a stop bubble in ch4, and particularly after this line in ch5 made me go 'oh yes, these are eve pilots, this is a wonderful representation of how absolutely filthy they are':

comm from @fiuefey.com this morning got me crying a little. Este (right) is my will, strength, and endurance, but she's also my comfort and i've leaned on her a lot lately. to have my headmate visualized like this with such care and detail is a special sort of treasure, easily worth the cost.
Two fursonas, one cat and one jackal/fennec hybrid, sharing an embrace in warm nighttime lighting. The white-furred cat's eyes are closed, and she is leaning into her partner for support, her right hand on the hybrid's shoulder and showing off her own right-shoulder lotus tattoo. The hybrid's deep brown fur is decorated with small lines of gold and bands of aquamarine; her expression is a tender one as she gazes down at the cat wrapped in her arms, her eyes half-lidded with delicate golden lashes and her cheek against the cat's forehead. There is very little space between the two of them.

imo wojaks and company aren't safe for *anyone*, let alone work. it's inherently toxic and i just wince any time i see it, even on the off-chance the meme is otherwise quality material

but 100% those are especially egregious and it's seriously fucked up
