Forschungsgruppe "TORF" untersucht untergegangene Küstenlandschaft des mittelalterlichen Nordfrieslands

Eine neue Forschungsgruppe untersucht, wie Menschen im Mittelalter am nordfriesischen Wattenmeer (Schleswig-Holstein) gelebt und dabei die Küstenlandschaft massiv umgestaltet haben. Das Vorhaben mit dem Titel "Times of Rise and Failure – TORF" kombiniert in sieben Teilprojekten geistes- und naturwissenschaftliche Disziplinen und wird in den kommenden vier Jahren von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft gefördert.

Vom 22. bis 24.09. fand die 2. Stationsausbildung der Cultural Heritage Response Unit #CHRU statt. Gemeinsam haben @thw.de, DAI & @leizarchaeology.bsky.social rund 60 Ehrenamtliche ausgebildet, um Kulturgüter im Katastrophenfall gemeinsam zu schützen.

Die jungsteinzeitliche Siedlung am Kapellenberg bei Hofheim zeugt von Krisen, Kriegen und Migration. Nach der vorerst letzten Grabung beginnt die Forschungsarbeit nun erst richtig.
