I bought an old mahogany bureau on Ebay. I didn't really want a bureau as we're meant to be downsizing, but it was a beautiful piece & obviously very old. Google lens suggests the brass chased handles are Queen Anne. That's 1702-1714 😯

Bei uns auch so! Neuer Bau eines Kindergartens 2023, aber keiner hat dran gedacht, dass man da vielleicht eine Klimaanlage mit einbaut?! Tja, und jetzt wird erwartet, dass man die Kinder früher abholt weil es ja im Kiga zu heiß sei....

Psycholinguists and psychologists: Is there good R packages for distributing items across conditions? For example, I have 60 stimuli and some preliminary data on item-level accuracy. I'd like to create 3 lists of 20 items that are matched in accuracy without coding it myself. 👀

I think most people are intuitively aware of this but something like the official White House account posting an “ASMR” video of shackled immigrants is not just cruel for its own sake, it’s intentional envelope-pushing to ramp up to desensitization over inhumane detention, camps, and deaths
