The Yardbirds live on French TV show 'Bouton Rouge' on the 9th March 1968. This was towards the end of the Yardbirds with the band splitting in June some 3 months later. Keith Relf & Jim McCarty announced their leaving in June with McCarty saying later "Toward the end of the Yardbirds we wanted to do something a bit more poetic, if you like, not so heavy. A bit more folky... We had had enough of heavy rock." Chris Dreja decided to pursue photography. Jimmy wanted to keep rocking and after an approach to Terry Reid who turned down the opportunity but suggested a singer from the Band of Joy from Birmingham along with his drummer the rest is history.
