so much that's wrong with the US today is the result of us letting the Confederates off easy. back then there was a faction of the Repulbicans (who were the good guys at the time) who wanted trials, jails, to eliminate secessionist state governments -- they wanted real justice and a path forward

Yesterday we were all waiting in the Epstein line. Today, the entire country has turned into investigators, tracking which files are disappearing. Sixteen gone so far. There’s been a remarkable amount of teamwork, with people working together to identify the missing documents.

The American Academy of Pediatrics represents tens of thousands of doctors whose sole focus is keeping kids alive and healthy. Pulling support from that work doesn’t punish an institution; it puts families (especially rural and underserved ones) at greater risk.

Trump created the tariff crisis and now wants to swoop in as the “solution.” He’s rolling out a $12 billion bailout for farmers (many of whom are among his most loyal supporters) after his own trade war damaged their livelihoods and pushed them into financial hardship.

People don't understand what is meant by "literacy" and the "literacy crisis".

Literacy isn't just not being able to physically read. Many people know how to see words and say words, which is basic reading. Literacy is being able to infer the correct information from what you read.
