If you ever feel useless, just remember that it took the US the whole week of verbally projecting American strength to replace the military bases in Greenland with the military bases in Greenland.
Putin can't meet with Zelensky because, for some reason, he has built a whole narrative delegitimising Ze as a leader. First, as a puppet for Western donors. Second, as an official who crossed the constitutional limits of his office. Could be strategy, could be vanity.

I'm starting to think that the right-wingers like Stephen Miller or Vladimir Putin create all this spectacle only to engage in an honest debate about history with the left-dominated academia. How much damage would we avoid if the teachers patiently engaged in discussions with their students?

Ancient Rome did it to a fair degree. Later Roman legislation favoured slave liberation (manumissio), e.g., the 212 Edict of Caracalla granting citizenship to all free residents of the empire. Generally speaking, Roman slavery gradually evolved into a new type of socio-economic relations—feudalism.

Only Sanchez is trying to stop the European race to the bottom on the issue of migration.
Every time I see someone like Abbott choose self-inflicted decline, I think of this quote from Pedro Sanchez:

"Spain needs to choose between being an open and prosperous country or a closed-off, poor country. It’s as simple as that."

Gloves need to be taken off when dealing with Alberta separatists.

[news from October 14, 2019]
Spain's top court to rule on Catalan separatists' rebellion charges
The 12 defendants — including former Catalan leader Carles Puigdemont currently in self-imposed exile — face up to 25 years in jail.

PM Mark Carney needs to stamp down on Smith and her separatist sentiments. By ignoring the issue it will only cause even more division in Alberta and Canada and ultimately aid the separatists. Smith’s thugs or freedom convoy are fully armed and Smith is right behind them leading them

One of the things I'd love to see, but it will never happen.
EU-China-Canada will pursue strategic relations while still parting ways over the question of defending democracy in Ukraine. So, Trump may have given Europe the spur that it has needed to become a geopolitical force in its own right—allowing it to play a balancing role. (FP)

If confirmed, the 1000/38 ratio would speak volumes about the losses of each side in this war.

The Russians and the Ukrainians exchanged the bodies of their fallen soldiers. The Russians (Medinsky) say that they exchanged 38 Russian bodies for 1,000 Ukrainian ones. The Ukrainians (KShPPV) confirm 1,000 Ukrainian bodies but don't specify how many Russian ones were exchanged.

The next Ukrainian elections will be a true carnival of every fraud imaginable. Whoever organises them, whoever participates in them. Romania or Moldova is nothing compared with what awaits Ukraine in this matter.

So disappointed at tariffs. The expectations were missiles, invasion, airborne landing, or the abduction of a political leader. As always, it all ended with tariffs.
To the people of Denmark: don’t worry a bit about the tariffs Trump tried to blackmail you guys with. We don’t care a bit what they do. They don’t get to use tariffs on us to pressure you. If he wants his own people to pay up more for things made in Europe he can have at it. We got you bros!

2. Industrial Revolution-1990s

Migration is a key development factor.
Abolish borders.

Increasingly my book is about how we are focusing on discrete agencies & discrete violences - ICE, CBP, DHS - but what we need to be doing is rethinking the entirety of the system that ever imagined human beings as threats.
