when i go "if you say AI in your product i'm not touching it", i say it because i'm not playing these fucking mind games. at this moment in time AI has a specific connotation, if you're advertising with that term you know full well what you're implying about your product. even if it's not That AI.
love that software developers are advertising AI functionality in every single app now and it's up to you to try to figure out if they mean "this has spellcheck" or "everything you create in this app will sync in real-time to sam altman's personal laptop" or something in between

This is a massive portion of what doesn't get talked about enough. It's not simply about "ownership" it's that much of art is extremely personal (even if the creator doesn't explicitly state that) so much work and "self" goes into every craft.

Actually, you know what, THAT'S why this shit pisses me off so much. They're not just stealing the physical art, or the style.
Someone sat down, put themselves into that art, were vulnerable enough to make it. They're trying to take the style, not realizing it's a theft of the vulnerability too

Adding to this, the idea that concept art is some sort of tedium you can cut corners on is genuinely insulting. Concept art is the bedrock to a setting's entire visual identity, and cutting corners on it is akin to shooting yourself in the foot to win a race.
