Today I'm finding out which people believe that if you're part of a population that is a small overall percentage of humans on the planet, it's okay to strip you of rights.

I wonder if they have considered how easy it would be to classify *them* into a small overall percentage, and do it to them.

Next time you’re in a meeting, look around the room. If your underrepresented early career scientists aren’t there, maybe ask yourself why & then find the answers. We need even more support right now.

In 2026, HHS was set to require fields for sexual orientation and gender identity in EHRs, supporting research and better care for LGBTQ+ patients.

Now, HHS won't enforce those requirements. Read in @statnews.com about impacts on providers and EHR vendors: www.statnews.com/2025/04/01/h...
HHS will not enforce gender and sexual orientation requirements for medical records
HHS will not enforce standards that medical records be able to capture patients’ sexual orientation and gender identity.

This is a sad but interesting question. How many grad students will leave and where, if anywhere will they go ?
Live here and am in grad school here. I have one class where 13 out of the 15 in it are leaving the state or country at end of semester.

That funding loss will really impact the summer where the population is half that so it’s about $2k per person.

As a pt advocate, I’m gutted that more people aren’t talking about the dismantling of SOGI data collection. We know SOGI data collection is important; LGBTQ+ patients w/ cancer (like myself) experience health & health care disparities. And yet we’re allowing for its erasure. 🌈
