Hi #HorrorWritersChat!

I'm Lawrence (she/her) and I write folk/religious horror with a Victoriana bent

My favourite horror movie set in a house is The Exorcism, a TV play from 1972 in which former socialists are haunted by the past inhabitants of the house they've renovated. All too relevant today

Hi #TBRuary!

I'm Lawrence (she/her) and I like fantasy, horror and litfic - currently on a literary horror binge. I have 5 or 6 books in my TBR but it's sure to grow.

As a writer, I would love it if more people read By The Blood, my horror novella about a vampire priest - available on Ko-Fi.

Going through my phone I found this old pic which really just feels like where I'm at in the Year of Our Lord 2026

I love that I recognised Stumps by his cheeky face rather than, well, his stumpy toeless feet.

Entering the "are graphic novels literature?"* discourse by getting emotionally wrecked by Samantha Hardy's Booker-winning Orbital and then immediately getting emotionally wrecked by The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't A Guy At All

*Yes, yes they are

Can confirm, our old flat had a resident wood pigeon couple, one of which just liked to sit on the windowsill and watch us doing our silly human things for hours.

They'd get upset if my partner did the wrong thing at the wrong time, like scrolling their phone instead of reading before work.

This little chap was shuffling on one foot and was happy for me to examine him (no string-foot, probably just a sprain). Think they just like hanging out.

A warning to anyone in Russell Square this afternoon

This puddle belongs to this crow, specifically. No ifs, no buts, only puddle.

Eric dug out some of their esoterica written by David Farrant and Sean Manchester, occultist cranks from North London, and I think this is going to be some top-tier nonsense.

And honestly @liminalitea.bsky.social outdid themselves with the illustrations this month - take these glimpses as proof! Full images availble in the zine on our Patreon.

This year's New Years Eve Ghibli is Laputa.

Pledging to enter 2026 with Dola as a transition goal.

New Years Eve means uszka and every imaginable way of preserving cabbage.

It turns out @liminalitea.bsky.social fully will "This Will Be Remembered" at any offhand thing I think would be nice, an Andreas wandering their own personal Pentiment

In maybe my most trans Christmas present ever, my partner got me a special box to keep my hormones in.

Taking a break from writing to read around a few things I ordinarily wouldn't to keep the wells of inspiration fresh.

Currently reading 18thC travelogues, mostly one man wandering around being rude about the Cotswolds and The North. It's quite delightful, given I know some of the areas well.

Five years ago - amazing what hormones can do.

I eventually got rid of Meridia's damn Beacon.
