We must be a city that builds.
🌲🚴‍♀️🏙🚊🚍🌲
No one “decided” to screw over anyone. The issue of parking in a major city leads to unavoidable trade-offs as it grows, and I’m glad leaders chose not to bulldoze a ton of Seattle for more parking.

Tonight is the Pike Place Constituency special election!

We need leaders who will continue the project of closing the market off to cars, so show up and vote for Chris Scott!!!

This could have been a parking spot

I’ve thought the same thing. I think it could work without needing any new infrastructure, “just” land acquisition.

It’s not lost on me that Broadmoor was one of the only places to vote *against* the medic one levy. They will certainly fight it, but it should be done.

Somewhat disagree, the problem isn’t the structures but the fence that surrounds them. We should remove the ability to climb the structures so people can walk around at the base.

We do this with the other structures at the park, imo it’s awesome and better than being just another empty field.

Members of the Pike Place Constituency! We need to show up and vote for a new PDA council rep that will keep the success of the pedestrianized Pike Place going.

So mark your calendars for December 16!

Good: keeping the bus lane, helping the 2 actually use it, and adding a bike crossing on 11th.

Bad: Does this mean they removing the bike lane on 10th?

At midnight, we watched a train cross a floating bridge for the first time in world history. Congratulations to @sound-transit.bsky.social and @kccclaudia.bsky.social on this monumental achievement!

Here’s to those who push forward to make the world better, even when the rest of it is dark.

I’m having what I call an “emergency casual meeting” for everyone to discuss all things light rail. Budget cuts, station alignments, political intrigue!

Pop in any time after 5pm today with your questions and takes. I will be ready with a Seattle map and dry erase markers so let’s get into it!

It takes a bold leader to say we need change when things aren’t working. But it takes an even bolder leader to say we *don’t* need change when things aren’t working.

Bass is that bolder leader. Not the one LA needs, but the one it has. Hopefully a progressive challenges her next election.
