Trump: If we build more housing, the price of homes will go down, and homeowners will lose their wealth.

The 3 core truths of politics:
1. Housing should be affordable
2. Housing should also be limited and expensive so homeowners’ net worths stay high
3. No the previous 2 aren’t in direct conflict bro stfu

No one “decided” to screw over anyone. The issue of parking in a major city leads to unavoidable trade-offs as it grows, and I’m glad leaders chose not to bulldoze a ton of Seattle for more parking.

Starting now! Please show up!
Tonight is the Pike Place Constituency special election!

We need leaders who will continue the project of closing the market off to cars, so show up and vote for Chris Scott!!!

Yes! Why this is not common sense policy is beyond me.
In response to a question about considering cutting funding for highway expansion projects to fill the budget shortfall, @juliareedwa.bsky.social doesn't want to spend another dollar on highway expansion until we address our existing backlog of maintenance of our transportation infrastructure.

What’s wrong with duplexes? What’s wrong with apartments?

People are homeless from these fires and need units rebuilt as quickly as possible, and we’re seriously banning types of housing over aesthetics??

Fuck you I’m gonna rally even harder this pride month. We will never give an inch back on this.

It would almost be losing a part of Seattle tradition if they decided to make it actually not suck for once.

Interesting idea, I hadn’t thought of that. This may be a good to do eventually.

The next step, whatever we decide to do, is removing the current catwalks and ladders. They’re old and breaking. I assure you they’re not salvageable.

@seattlegov.bsky.social , tear down this fence!
This is the difference between making the park safer and keeping it “in tact” for the preservationists that the Landmarks Board said was just not possible to approve

Before (dangerous). After (safe).

Should illegally parked car owners get a veto and make students walk in a ditch in perpetuity?

Real profiles in leadership here.
Honda pressed staff further: "Does the neighborhood want this? Did we talk to the neighborhood before we went out for the grant?"
Federal Way Public Works Director EJ Walsh noted that residents have asked for more walkable infrastructure & that high school students currently have to walk in a ditch.

I’ve thought the same thing. I think it could work without needing any new infrastructure, “just” land acquisition.

It’s not lost on me that Broadmoor was one of the only places to vote *against* the medic one levy. They will certainly fight it, but it should be done.

It can’t be said enough, active military know it is their DUTY to refuse orders that violate the law.

Trump, who never served, ordering the murder of veterans who merely remind other soldiers of the oath they all took, shows how little regard he has for our service members.

Pretty sure they are completely aware that the city controls if there are bus lanes along transit routes.

Yes, the mayor absolutely does determine if our bus system is good.
The disingenuous whiners at the Seattle Times ed board actually suggested that Katie Wilson—mayor-elect and the founder of the Transit Riders Union (who used to do outreach at the bus stop on Third and Union)—doesn't know that the county, not the city, runs the buses. Cry harder, losers

What a disappointment. LA deserves better. As @goldy.horsesass.org said, the most humane, pragmatic, and progressive thing those of us in the free blue cities can do is build a shit ton of housing so that every American who wants to move here can.

Bass has shown she’s squarely against this goal.

at this point, Los Angeles is the most NIMBY city in the country.

I am not a socialist myself, but give me a socialist YIMBY like Zohran or Katie Wilson over a liberal NIMBY like Karen Bass any day of the week.
