Missed this while typing: Harrell told the crowd, which was not giggling, "You can giggle if you want, but 18% of Americans are homeless." This is not true.

For real. If we were going to have one pedestrian promenade in downtown, it really should be 1st Ave.

Let’s get it done

What if The Ave was pedestrianized permanently?

Great job Noah! I think I might still go, just in case there was a miscommunication 😅.

Underrated part of this is that Harrell acknowledges Wilson has great ideas. Harrell’s “experience” has been doing nothing, and he will probably continue to do nothing in the face of Trump
ericacbarnett.bsky.social
In his closing statement, Harrell said, "This is not the time for hope. Passion and great ideas and inexperience is just not going to get us there. Trump will walk all over a person without experience, period."

Good: keeping the bus lane, helping the 2 actually use it, and adding a bike crossing on 11th.

Bad: Does this mean they removing the bike lane on 10th?

Many of Harrell's reelection donations are from the Eastside.
SDOT is suddenly making this change because of Eastside drivers.

Hot take @bsky.app , “skeet” is the perfect term for a post here. Like in skeet shooting, you launch it into the blue and people take shots at it.

What are some good protest sign ideas?

Kudos to Juarez for standing for what’s right.

Moore lied to voters about what she believed, and spent her stint on the council undercutting housing at every turn. She earned negative credibility to advise policy, and I’m glad most of the council recognized that.

Maritza Rivera running away with it, working hard every day to ensure as few people as possible have the same housing opportunities she had.

She won her election by 235 votes.

Is your Seattle City Councilmember a YIMBY or a NIMBY? Use this chart compiled from the September 12 hearing on the Comprehensive Plan to find out.

Thanks to our members Matthew C. and Aidan T. for compiling the data & chart!

Congratulations @bruceforseattle.bsky.social
on raising more than a million dollars from Amazon lobbyists, billionaires, MAGAs and Seattle's commercial real estate industrial complex.

When you announced, "I embrace the rich" you weren't kidding!

Thank you for showing us exactly who you are.

In the past month, realtors, developer lobby groups, real estate investors, and other wealthy corporate donors have contributed more than half a million dollars to the PAC supporting Mayor Bruce Harrell's campaign to defeat labor organizer Katie Wilson. They've raised more than a million dollars!

It’s so goddamn hard to start a small business in Seattle, with city leadership that wants to micromanage every little thing you can/can’t do like it’s their HOA.

It should not be prohibitively difficult to get a permit to set up in an otherwise empty space in the city if your food is safe to eat.

Just what Seattle residents are looking for from the SDOT budget, I think: a crackdown on "unpermitted vending" on city streets and a ramp up in graffiti removal.
Key highlights for SDOT in the 2026 Proposed Budget:
FIFA World Cup 26™ Readiness: $3.5 million is proposed for planning, cleaning, and emergency response functions to support Seattle’s role as a host city and the expected 750,000 visitors.
Street Use Support: $2.7 million is proposed to support increased needs for street use inspections and to help address unpermitted vending during particularly near venues and busy spots during evenings and weekends.
Downtown Activation & Graffiti Response: $5.3 million to support cleanup, graffiti abatement, and activation efforts in key areas, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation and the Office of Arts and Culture.
Safety Investments: Funding to expand traffic safety cameras toward our goal of zero traffic deaths and serious injuries; and to improve pedestrian safety at the Pike Plac
