It is time for state and local governments to arrest masked officers who won’t produce warrants and who have no proof someone is undocumented.

Kidnappers should be arrested and indicted and tried for kidnapping and serve the many years such sentences carry.

Wild - the constant mistakes made by the Harrell administration.

They've grossly mismanaged city hall--and it has showed up in everything from police to parks, housing, transportation and homelessness services.

Unbelievable incompetence.

Newsom signed SB79! So, so huge. Enormous props to all the people who worked so hard, for so long, to make this happen, above all @scottwiener.bsky.social. It's going to change California, and the country.

UPDATE: Newsom has signed SB 79 into law!!

This is a great day for anyone who cares about ending California's housing and homelessness crisis, getting the state to net zero emissions, and recovering American democracy.

Who do we mean when we say “Black Seattle”?

This mayoral race isn’t about personalities—it’s about whether symbolism becomes substance. What do “seats at the table” mean if the rest of us go hungry?

From City Hall to the Central District, Seattle's mayoral race raises deeper questions: Who speaks for "Black Seattle," and what does real representation look like beyond the ballot? Marcus Harrison G...

There's two blocks between the East Precinct and 12th and Union. Two blocks, two reversed decisions, one week.

Do you need management experience to get it wrong this reliably?

If Bruce Harrell's case for re-election is his management experience, what should we make of two separate instances in the last week of city decisions made under his watch being immediately reversed after huge community blowback?

During my 3 years living in Seattle without a car, my access to parks and nature was significantly constrained. Many of Seattle’s coastal parks are hard to reach by transit. So are the out-of-town hikes.

We can do better to ensure everyone can enjoy the natural beauty of the PNW

Harrell has been one of the biggest obstacles to speeding sound transit and reducing its costs for years.

Wilson says the city could use its own right of way and expedite permitting to reduce costs for Sound Transit. Harrell says "we took 50 of our smartest engineer types" to ensure that permits are expedited, saying "that will save us 100s of millions of dollars."

Bruce Harrell's comprehensive plan legalized corner stores only on literal street corners, so he's not really even doing everything possible to build "corner stores" in neighborhoods.
ericacbarnett.bsky.social
Harrell talks about how much the city pays for food security, but that the municipal grocery store is an "unproven" idea. "The smarter approach is to get as many corner stores involved" as possible, "so we're doing everything possible to address food insecurity." And that's the end!
