Just like the comp plan neighborhood centers, the Mayor's office steps in at the last minute to stop needed progress in our city.

A major intersection redesign near Seward Park was ready to go to construction with a Mayor's Office review the only impediment, records show. The exchanges reveal what was happening behind the scenes as the public was kept in the dark about the upgrades.

It's kind of apparent he's incredibly annoyed that he has a serious challenger in this race.

The "Bruce Harrell for Seattle's Future" PAC has raised more money from Medina residents than the "Katie Wilson for an Affordable Seattle" PAC has raised overall.
typewriteralley.bsky.social
Bruce Harrell's campaign is fundraising on the need to "fight back against the influence of outside money."

The PAC set up to spend on Harrell's behalf has raised $1.2 million so far, compared to the $86,000 raised by the PAC set up for spend in support of Katie Wilson.
I have some big news to share.

Because our opponent is benefiting from outside spending on her behalf, the Seattle Ethics & Elections Commission has lifted the Democracy Vouchers fundraising cap for our campaign. That means Bruce’s can once again raise contributions to power our grassroots campaign.

This is a critical moment. Over the next month, we need to make sure Bruce has the resources to get his message out and fight back against the influence of outside money. With your support, we can keep pushing forward with Bruce’s vision for a safer, more affordable, and more unified Seattle.

It's just another demonstrable reason why Harrell was so behind in the primary. He's out of touch.

I was called by the project manager last week and they said they asked around and couldn't figure out who closed the road.

The Elliot Bay Trail bike/ped detour was closed tonight (around 8:20 PM 9/23). Construction person was not helpful in providing a detour (the closest detour is a mile away!).

If you're biking that route tomorrow and you notice the detour is still closed please let me know!

Many of Harrell's reelection donations are from the Eastside.
SDOT is suddenly making this change because of Eastside drivers.

I really wonder where he got this number. The city's data portal only has 7 for the year 😬

Confirmed: SDOT will be removing the bus only lane on E Union Street this weekend, ceding this part of the $130 million RapidRide G project back to general purpose traffic in response to requests from nearby property owners.

Fascinating to hear Maritza Rivera say the Seattle Dept. of Construction and Inspections should speed up permitting so housing can be built, just weeks after proposing amendments to slow down housing, including one allowing the SDCI director to demand new site plans at any time to save any tree.

Now that the feds are in Portland it's important to remember that the head of Seattle's police union, the guy that over 50% of Seattle cops chose to represent them, supports the feds coming to Seattle. Expect most SPD officers to support and join in on the feds cracking skulls.

So top Portland cops wrote & *testified* that fed agents have been "instigating and causing" conflict.

They said agents were firing pepper balls unprovoked and "without any apparent warning"

When a Portland chief called a federal agent w/ Qs, the agent hung up.

“It makes it extremely difficult for us to deal with, as the folks that are on the other side of this fence have been, night after night, actually instigating and causing some of the ruckus that’s occurring down there,” Dobson said.

“Okay. So it’s your testimony ICE is creating the problem?” Rask asked.

“I’m saying that they’re not following best practice,” Dobson replied.
