Now Trump says "we" need Greenland.

Well done weak European leaders who tepidly criticized/welcomed Trump’s invasion of Venezuela yesterday.

You're next.

The Epstein Files Transparency Act is a law, passed by Congress on November 19 with an overwhelming vote. Complying with it was not optional. The Department of Justice did not comply.

I want to make sure this is very clear.

I think the key to this version of US imperialism is the interaction of 1 and 2 here
i think that people really underestimate reality that

1) administration has no doctrine, it is really about a single, mercurial, and half-awake man

2) the administration is a constantly churning system with factions that rise and fall contextually

3) might not have happened if trump tower caracas

This is profoundly un-American.

No—that's not right.

It's *anti*-American.

It's hatred of the United States and its founding documents and all its people and all its traditions.

The person who wrote and approved this is a weirdo who detests everything that America stands for.

Wash Post conveniently doesn't mention that most of the spending is from the TOP 10%, many Americans don't own stocks, the growth in AI investments benefit billionaires, the Trump Admin is withholding economic data, & most people are negative on the economy.

Trump: We track Santa. We want to make sure that Santa is being good. We want to make sure that he's not infiltrated, that we're not infiltrating into our country a bad Santa. Santa loves Oklahoma like I do. You know, Oklahoma was very good to me in the election

I think this is one those things historians understand intuitively and a lot of non-historians struggle with. Research isn’t just about answering a question, it’s about framing a question. This is what we argue about! Wrestle with. Cry over. Drink away. Not how to answer, but what question to ask.
No, absolutely not.

Most archival materials have not been digitized, many would be illegible to AI (handwriting etc) even if they were. But the question came out of the research. There’s no way AI can do that.

100% this. Do non-historians think all the answers are on the Internet and in the training modules?

The real work is in what’s not digitized. But also in asking the questions that get us there and help us make sense of it.
