A few shots of last night’s Lunar Eclipse. Missed the beginning due to being at work but glad I made it home in time for totality. ✨ #lunareclipse #bloodmoon

There were also a few Red Tailed Hawks flying over the canyon during my hike. This one was nice enough to perch at the top of a tree. #redtailedhawk

California Scrub Jay! Probably my second time seeing this species but first time photographing it. #californiascrubjay

Finally got through the remaining bird photos. Dark-Eyed Junco. #birds

Couple more shots of that same Red Shouldered Hawk. Partly cloudy lighting is so rough for me but at least it seems to have given each shot a different mood.

Went for a midday hike before the rain today to see what wildlife was around. Almost only birds but still neat. Will share more within this thread - first up a Red Shouldered Hawk. #wildlifephotography #photography

CA140C Ben coming over to check us out a little as the CA140 family travelled past. He is the first bull Orca I’ve seen and his dorsal fin was massive! #addOcean #killerwhale #whale #whalewatching #photography

Another edit of the owl - tough to get photos of because it was so dark I had to do long exposures to even reveal that it was there. I could barely make out it’s silhouette with my naked eye.

Went out looking for bioluminescence last fall and found this Great Horned Owl in the stars instead. #greathornedowl #gho #owl #bird #birdphotography

Finally got some much needed rain. Ran up to take a picture of some of the mountains that had previously been ablaze between showers. Left picture is the rain - right picture is the Palisades Fire about a week ago burning through the area. #palisadesfire #rain #photography

And while I’m here why not share some of our Biggs/Transient Population that I’ve met. This is adult female CA23A1 and her juvenile, CA23A1A, surfacing just on the other side of her. A rarely seen Orca family. #transientorca #orca #killerwhale

I figure here I’ll probably also share some of the wildlife/nature focused art I make. This is a little illustration I did of an Offshore Orca after seeing that about 60 - 80 individuals had been seen in Monterey bay. #orca #orcaart #offshoreorca

New account means an excuse to post old photos - some long beaked common dolphins swimming through a very murky red tide back in April of 2022. #whalewatching
