My 1st thesis chapter is out in #EcologicalMonographs! 🎉
With @curromolina.bsky.social @ibartomeus.bsky.social
How is #climatechange reshaping plant–pollinator timing (phenological overlap) in Mediterranean ecosystems? Can #biodiversity buffer mismatches?
Find out here👇

Generalized plant–pollinator phenological climate‐driven advances still lead to a decline in phenological overlap
Climate change is altering the phenology of interacting species, potentially leading to mismatches in the timing of their interactions. This may affect the delivery of key ecosystem services such as ...

Ecology faces an accumulation of models but not an accumulation of confidence. Our new paper w/ Jonathan Levine www.nature.com/articles/s41... in @natecoevo.nature.com introduces a rigorous test rooted in queueing theory to falsify inadequate models and build confidence in useful ones.
Rigorous validation of ecological models against empirical time series - Nature Ecology & Evolution
Validating theoretical models against empirical data presents challenges. Here the authors present an assumption-light method to validate ecological models against time series data, along with a dedic...

Yayy 🌱🪲🐝🐌- A list of stellar ecologists and myself showed that (1) species interactions can be summarised at the guild level, except for a few critical species, (2) they occur along a continuum from positive-to-negative, and (3) they have relatively weak strength except between plants!
