Two days after the deadly Texas floods, FEMA struggled to answer calls from survivors to its disaster assistance line.

Why? Because hundreds of employees who answered phones were fired after Kristi Noem didn't approve new contracts.

The Supreme Court should preserve the status quo until legal questions are resolved and explain the disposition of cases for the public. They are abdicating basic principles of equity and failing to fulfill their institutional role. They aren’t pretending to try. There isn’t even the veneer of law.

I'm so sad to learn that Andrea Gibson has died. Their written poetry but especially their spoken word performances have meant so much to me ever since I first saw them in this rendition of "maybe I need you" years ago. Thank you, rest in peace. youtu.be/g20xeqjt6bA?...

Mazel tov! It's so wonderful to have a podcast that I can share with the non-lawyers in my circles that is rigorous, real, and yet somehow hopeful.

I am grateful to still have my job at Ed OCR. But I am heartbroken that so many career staff lost their jobs yesterday. In their honor, and on behalf of the disabled student that I was, I will work to enforce our nation's civil rights laws.

But you all will be so missed at this precarious time.
