Every Democrat running for office needs to promise investigations and full prosecutions from top to bottom, remove its funding bloat then break up the agency and distribute its core remaining useful functions across other agencies.

Now seems like a swell time to point out that Frontline just released this excellent 11-minute mini-documentary about what happened inside CECOT.
This isn't 60 Minutes' first rodeo. They sidelined a story on big tobacco in the 90s under pressure from investors nervous about the story fucking up a merger. Then they left their source twisting in the wind. There's even a movie about it called The Insider.

The one thing I'll say is that the Trump post on the Reiners is even more deranged and cut off from all reality when you remember that Michele shot the cover photo for Art of the Deal. Trump usually never passes up a chance to point out stuff like that. He's lost all grip on reality.

Taking a break from the sickening tragedy to focus on the beauty for a moment. Rob Reiner achieved something so rare and coveted that artists and entertainers dream of and rarely achieve: cultural permanence. How many times have you made a reference to something going to 11? I loved the way he moved from genre to genre with each film and made them his own. Funny, silly, smart, terrifying. That is not an easy thing to do, but he made it look easy. Not every film landed, which is great because it meant he took real risks with his work.
Rob Reiner, for a while there, was one of the most artistically and commercially successful directors in Hollywood. He had a run of films that knocked the roof off. With STAND BY ME, he gave voice to Stephen King’s work that we hadn’t seen since CARRIE and SALEM’S LOT and rarely since.
