I’m just going to steer clear of the news for a bit. I wasn’t dealing well with the news day-to-day with the wars on in the world, but now, just can’t deal with it on constant loop and analysis.

One of my few Xmas indulgences is mince tarts from the baker’s. I’ll buy a pack of six, although will only eat one a day.

Freda Jackson is having a wonderful time cackling and being dramatic in The Keeper. It’s also one of her last roles. #Blakes7

It’s very brief, but the scene between Jenna and Servalan in The Keeper is absolutely stellar. Jacqueline Pearce plays Servalan brilliantly. #Blakes7

Why is the gun rack on the Liberator on the flight deck not the teleport room? And why is the teleport room more of a sectional corridor? #Blakes7

#Blakes7 The Keeper is slow and padded.
But at least everyone has something to do.

Need to go to Spotlight. Trying to decide if it’d be easier to go today with more days to Xmas. Or mid-week, not the weekend, but closer to Xmas.

Watching the Grand Designs House of the Year finalists. The most admired contemporary style of family home for the moneyed architect classes can only be described as “English Heritage throws a corrugated shed over a Saxon ship burial complete with visitor centre and toilet block”.

Email from Apple for my Doctor Who Magazine subscription via Pocketmags. Will renew shortly. And remains at $99 for the year. One of the best decisions to switch from the physical which just jumped in price every year to digital which has remained the same price for a few years now. #DoctorWho

#Blakes7 Gambit is so exceptionally camp.
It uses all its characters very well. And all the sets are well utilised. The “outdoor” pieces look properly gritty, and the interior sets are glam and full camp.
I love Avon and Vila in the C-plot.
Also Servalan swans around & “speed chess” is wonderful.

One of these people has the title of “Supreme Commander”. This is a serious science fiction show. #Blakes7

Have been enjoying this band recently, the melodic breakdown especially is nice.

Had a hunt through my cupboard, I found three pairs of boardies that still fit, albeit a little loose. One of the pairs goes down to below my knees.

Everyday I get up I just think “what needs washing/cleaning today?”
Being an adult is so tedious.

Giving Prime Suspect 1973 a go. It starts with the kinda tired trope of “make the main character identifiable and honest by helping a rando, therefore showing them honest and going out of their way, but late, but a good identification figure for the audiences”.

#Blakes7 Voice from the Past has lots of different ideas. Some interesting direction. But why is Travis even there, he’s almost become the Master at this point.
There’s some good continuity, linking back to “The Way Back”.
But it just needed a bit more script editing to make it cohesive.

#Blakes7 George Spenton-Foster really loves a close up in Voice from the Past.

#Blakes7 Voice from the Past is the episode I dislike the most. It does surprisingly use all the characters for the first 10 minutes or so.
Vila is unfortunately written really stupid.

#Blakes7 Countdown is a decent enough story. Federation doing its thing. The 7 turning up for their own gains and to help.
Considering Terry Nation created the series and characters, he uses them really poorly. Cally + Jenna have **nothing** to do in this story.
Avon gets a good amount of backstory.

Had a bit of time this afternoon. I was going to just watch some YT or something. Instead I mowed the grass.
It didn't *need* doing, usually I'm one of the last to mow on my street. But I got it done because it's going to be hot tomorrow. #GardeningAustralia

Went to Dan Murphy. Bought Baileys in chocolate and cinnamon scroll flavour for grandma for Xmas.
Have now done all Xmas shopping, did other family members earlier.

Searching sew on patches on eBay, and look at this “Glitter Queen” 1970s patch.

#Blakes7 Hostage is very uneven. There’s some interesting space combat at the start which looks great thanks to the new bluray effects.
Then it’s a visit to Exbar which is Betchworth Quarry.
The Crimos are an interesting addition to the B7 lore.
But it’s a bit meh story wise. Travis is under used.
