Designer & Producer I enable others to make experiences by day, and tinker with my ttrpgs by night. Parent extraordinaire! Special interests are procgen, cultural design, and narrative. Queer and cute but still can’t post consistently.
Thank you Austria for allowing one thing to be mostly fun for another year. Eurovision saved.

Sooooo, it’s been a week, to which my response is rewatching all seasons of Gilmore Girls and eating Churros. Maybe I’ll get a new hair cut. Middle aged fits me as well as sweats and a blankie.

I sometimes reference the genetical lottery, especially since I became a parent, and I’m not sure who needs to hear this, but living with disability doesn’t destine your children to a life in misery. It may lead to a life less productive compared to some norms, but not unhappiness.

I ran my first full length playtest with the new ttrpg system last weekend, and I haven’t really thought about the impact of setting up mechanics that steer the GM before. Shackling the GM in the same rules as the players make sense in a war game based ttrpg, so everything stays “fair”. (1/2)

There’s lots to unpack in this Guardian article on Avatar Therapy. Highly recommend the read! I’ve used therapeutic tools to raise the impact of my game mastering in tabletop roleplaying, but this is the first time I hear about therapy using game mastering tools: www.theguardian.com/news/2024/oc...
‘You tried to tell yourself I wasn’t real’: what happens when people with acute psychosis meet the voices in their heads?
The long read: In avatar therapy, a clinician gives voice to their patients’ inner demons. For some of the participants in a new trial, the results have been astounding

I would’ve loved if limiting the amount of content I’m presented was a standard feature in Social Media. My current Bluesky feed contains one update every thirty minute and it gives me time nothing else has to appreciate what I’m reading and look for more. And want to take part in conversations!

To relatable, and the extension of this is a management culture where Direction scope for and guard the “core” (the 80% you’ve taken from similar games) of the release, and force the people on the team that are deadly tired of delivering the same old to handle innovation on their own.
My partner once said something that continues to haunt me: “in the absence of good producers, the person who cares the most will become the producer”

I have a joke about game development, but it’s estimated to gain less than five million followers so I’m not telling it.
I have a joke about game development, but a bunch of people got mad at me for it and another bunch thinks they could have told it better
I have a joke about game development, but it was layed off before the punchline.
