I love and will be baking multiple pies this year, but I weirdly get this. I can see why the consistency can be off-putting, and people tend to cut baking corners, which can lead to mediocre flavor.

I do the same thing though fortunately without the physical attacking part (usually). It typically takes a minute for my brain to wake up enough to realize I'm hallucinating or mis-seeing something in the room. I've never known anyone else who does this before
