Different ways of living are possible, and are already taking place all over the world. They’re ways of love, kindness and joy. They’re quiet, humble, slow, small. They’re vital and restorative, regenerative and inclusive. I’m pledging to celebrate, support and amplify them. Will you join me?

Tiny treasures from the past found when clearing out my mum’s house. 50 years old. From when you could smoke on planes. Probably from my Nana’s trip to Calgary.

A Gen AI argument I hate:

‘We disadvantage our students if we don’t teach them to use it “responsibly”’

For fuck’s sake, no.

1: it can’t be used responsibly
2: it’s antithetical to what makes humanities work worthwhile: critical thinking, deep research, self expression, self reflection, etc.

Phew! You’ve been so missed. No need to reply to any of my messages. Rest up. You must be slootly zorsted. X

Well done your brain for seeking help and getting to the right place. Try to stay fed and warm and let other folk take care of you for a bit. We are all rooting for you and are glad that you did the right thing by reaching out.

When my mum was dying her little group chat were such a support. They kept her feeling loved. Now I‘m in their group and make sure I see them regularly to pass on the love my mum would have been giving them

twice a year the entire U.S. press becomes a marketing extension of a single billionaire-owned retailer, and nobody in any position of editorial power thinks it's weird or gross

I'm giving away this signed 1st edition h/b of my new novel (it has a tiny jacket rip which means I wouldn't sell it) to one person who reposts this.

You might like it if you like:
Folkloric creatures
Old records
Intricate psychedelic stories
The idea of circular time

All shares much-appreciated.

Everyone needs to know that Dolly Parton responded to a climate disaster in her community with a temporary universal basic income for everyone who lost their homes.

Here's a short documentary about it:

The fact that you can be reflexive about your situation shows great maturity and wisdom Victoria. I think you should be proud of how far you have come, despite everything put in your way. A time to celebrate your achievements and spend time with people you care about. X

I think it does. Especially important if you have caring responsibilities for someone vulnerable. I paid for my jab and it was quick and easy.

Hope all is ok. Sending love to you both.

Because it feels relevant as we continue to evaluate the media and our representatives’ statements, my favorite way to identify the active vs. passive voice.
A post by Rebecca Johnson:
“I finally learned how to teach my guys to ID the passive voice. If you can insert "by zombies" after the verb, you have passive voice.”

A tumblr respond from mightymur:
“The final, brilliant word on passive voice.
"She was killed [by zombies.]"<--passive
"Zombies killed [by zombies] her." <-- active”

Isn’t it lovely to have a famous person beautiful inside and out, where every bit of history people dig up about her how’s her quiet kindness, intelligence and compassion. What a gem.

This is Eeyore. He led a sheriff's deputy to his grandma after she fell during their walk. We are awarding him the incredibly rare 15/10 (FB: OkaloosaSheriff)
