How can it be ok to manufacture and export to developing countries chemicals too dangerous to be allowed in the UK?
Our new investigation found:

- Last year, the UK exported 8,500 tonnes of pesticides considered so hazardous they are banned here

- Including: enough bee-killing neonicotinoid thiamethoxam to spray an area larger than England

- Syngenta was responsible for 98% of these banned pesticide exports
‘Ultimate hypocrisy’: UK exported 8,500 tonnes of banned pesticides last year

A ‘bug snug’ 🪲
Borders don’t normally get tidied here until the temperatures are reliably in the double digits in spring to provide food & shelter for wildlife over winter. However, Storm Bert wasn’t kind to us & we had lots of debris all over the paths #nature #biodiversity #habitat #shelter

We recommend planting hedgerows with trees of Irish Provenance—from seeds collected and grown in Ireland.

⏰ Phenology (when they bud-burst, flower and seed) is better adapted to our environment and wildlife.
🦠 Lower disease risk (e.g. Fireblight).
