When the program first came in it was supremely good. My wife works in special ed looking after disadvantaged kids. So often there are kids from disaster homes that would eat 2 or even 3 of the lunches because that was likely the healthiest food they got and they started to thrive.

Buildroot compiles a ton of C and CPP code depending on requirements and a whole lot of that shit still uses gnu autotools or other slow checks. Each check is a disc read and fuck are they slow especially for single threaded shit like autotools. The build time was at least 50% just that 😠

There is also evidence that they might be locking things down hard to prevent this in future too.
