My weight is a bit nuts at the moment. Generally around 82kg but those two low dips are 80.5kg, first is a weekend I did digging and shovelling all weekend and last is I did house cleaning the entire weekend (everything, top to bottom). Thorough cleaning is a hell of an aerobic workout.

Bloody hell.. So I was using my trueNAS box for a build server for buildroot container images (building x86 images on macOS is insanely slow) the build times were excessive still.
Figured out the docker setup was using the raid metal. Threw a spare NVME in for docker and more than halved build time

Personally I try very hard to never buy there and for ebooks I buy either kobo (for fiction) or direct (manning, pragmatic etc) and crop pdf

Anyway, the long and short of it is this: if we want to break the Amazon monopoly, readers and writers have to move elsewhere together, even if the others aren't there yet.
I've gone wide; I'm everywhere. But I need readers to move their reading elsewhere as well.

I don't think we're going to have a successful Amazon boycott till we break their monopoly on indie books.
They have a clever strategy to build their monopoly, which any functional government would have banned: if you want your indie book listed in Kindle Unlimited, you have to be exclusive. 🧵

I hate that we're nearly in 2026 and GNU Autotools still exist and are still used. And still do not have parallelisation.
Stupid shit is slow as hell and takes up 3/4 of compile time of a lot of things.
