TL;DR: (1) Medir una escuela solo por las notas en pruebas estandardizadas puede no proporcionar una imagen completa de la calidad escolar, (2) los beneficios de los sistemas de elección de escuela pueden extenderse a una amplia gama de factores más allá de las notas en exámenes.

5/ Los padres de niños con alto rendimiento académico otorgan clasificaciones más altas a las escuelas que muestran contribuciones relativamente mayores a la mejora de puntajes en exámenes estandardizados. Los estudiantes con bajo rendimiento actúan en dirección contraria.

4/ Los padres prefieren escuelas que reduzcan el crimen juvenil, disminuyan los embarazos de adolescentes y aumenten la participación en el mercado laboral (después de controlar por el promedio de los resultados, la distancia, y la calidad académica de los compañeros).

3/ Los padres tienden a favorecer las escuelas cercanas, las escuelas con un mejor promedio académico y las escuelas con compañeros con alto rendimiento, lo cual concuerda con estudios previos.

2/ La relación entre el impacto de las escuelas en exámenes estandardizados y su impacto en otras áreas vitales es baja, con correlaciones 0.04-0.15. No siempre las escuelas que mejoran resultados académicos son las mismas mejorando otros factores que los padres pueden valorar.

I'm looking for a compelling multi-arm RCT where it was not obvious which treatment would work better or the answer is ex post surprising. goal is to show non-researchers that their priors can be wrong, using an A/B example. 📈📉
