I keep hearing about planned "General Strikes" and that's a good idea -

But seriously, what if there is a mass boycott against paying income taxes?

What the MAGAs cheering Trump on fail to understand is that the circle of power they think they are inside of will steadily shrink until they are on the outside looking in with the rest of us.

Fascists do not share power or privilege… That is what literally makes them fascist.

The conservative mindset is hardwired to engage with and be steered by fear anger and paranoia; it's like when you trick your dog into thinking somebody is knocking at the door… The dog goes apeshit every time… Now imagine you got $20 every time you did that… That is the business model of Fox News.

Something is shifting. They are still breaking things and stealing things. And they will keep trying to break and to steal. But the propaganda magic around the oligarchical coup is fading. (1/2)

Protests happen when they happen, if you can only show up on certain days show up on those days, if no protest is available on your dates then organize one, open your own spaces. Protests need to be daily, but not everyone is expected to show up daily. Do what you can when you can. Just show up.

People need to understand this: Trump did not leave office willingly the first time. If his health holds up, he will not leave office willingly this time. He is not joking about serving more than two terms.

If Trump and his gang aren't bound by the law nor the constitution, why are you? Currently the system of checks and balances is being destroyed at a speed that would have launched most countries into riots or open revolt. This is a constitutional crisis and your constitution isn't doing so well.

The goal here, of course, is a self-fulfilling spiral of stupidity. You fire a bunch of worker because you say government isn't efficient. Then when people need help, there aren't enough workers to help them. And you say, "See? I told you government doesn't work." And the rubes believe you.

You cannot determine whether you saved or cost money based solely on one side of the ledger.

Example: I saved my household $2K by not paying the mortgage.

They were discussing Mary Poppins on @alltherightmovies.com and they mentioned that ‘A Spoonful of Sugar’ was inspired by one of the composer’s sons getting the polio vaccine in a sugar cube.

A bright, cheery, classic song that sprang from the eradication of a horrific disease.

Whenever anyone accuses BlueSky of being a bubble of liberal thought I think about how buying Twitter allowed Elon Musk to become the most powerful man in the world. Does anyone think ideological “diversity” on Twitter would have stopped that? But organizing on BlueSky might help fight him.

When exactly did place names become “broadly up for grabs because of an election”?

You’re treating this madness as a normal part of a presidential election. It is not and it never has been.
I hope it's clear that I am not defending the name change. It's ridiculous! Nor do I think it's popular. My point about "values" is that once place names are broadly up for grabs depending on who wins an election, they're going to change in ways that you might not like.

The Trump regime is not the legitimate government of the US; Musk is not an elected official. This is a coup d'état enabled by inaction and secret (not so secret) interests (corruption) among the officials entrusted to protect the country. When all levels of protection fail, there is only you left.
