Creo que lo interesante de la paleta de ZX Spectrum es que, vista desde la perspectiva del diseño gráfico, son los colores primarios de los sistemas RGB y CMYK.

Cada color es muy distinto de los demás, así que se pueden usar como códigos para identificar distintos tipos de elementos.

Today's wip: I've tried a bunch of 4-frame animations, but I think it works better with 2 to maintain the raw spirit of the original version. That said, I've redrawn all the sprites to better define their shapes.

Random fact: the title screen for the game X-Multiply (Irem, 1986) looks very similar to the cover art for the album Straight Between the Eyes (Rainbow, 1982)

It is quite complex to create a monospaced Gothic font with ligatures that looks natural. This is my best approach so far.

Remaking the font so it actually fits a 8x16 grid. This one will be complex because it has ligatures.

The 2010 version font was not retro-accurate. Basically because I made the game before learning how to make my own bitmap fonts.

WIP: Adapting my bezel feature to fit the 256x192 resolution that I will be using in future projects.

It will support 4 scaling modes (1 integer, 1 stretched and 2 proportional) and it should look fine in most resolutions, including ultrawide.

I call it “proud pixel art” when the screen resolution is so low that sprites take up a lot of space on the screen and every single pixel matters.

You can see this effect by comparing screenshots from Super Nintendo and Mega Drive: the same sprites look bigger on a Super Nintendo.

I was reminded that I made these Flash Gordon sprites 12 years ago, and the thing is, they still hold up according to my current standards. That wasn't the case with other projects from that time.

They were designed for Bruneras' collective project DonkeyMe.
