So, while I am not a lawyer, my understanding is that TikTok was not required by US law to go dark in the specific way that it did -- the app stores halting distribution would be enough.

Could we consider saying 草 (in its current Internet slang usage of laughter) out loud as being equivalent to English speakers pronouncing "lol" as though it were a word and not an acronym of the letters L-O-L meaning laugh out loud (e.g. "lawl")?
