don’t sleep on “Sad Mood”! this very album was my introduction to Sam Cooke in 1980, it stayed in heavy rotation for ages.
this was in the slipstream of Dexy’s Midnight Runners’ ‘young soul rebels’ hype - the gateway drug thing was very much real.
