I wonder how many autistic people in the middle ages became monks or nuns? You can:
- Live with a small number of people
- Do the same routine every day
- Eat the same food all the time
- Spend most of your day painstakingly hand-copying books

Like, I know some people that would go for that now.

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections

But the main reason I haven't given up entirely is he's still talking to interesting, intelligent people a lot of the time and asking good questions. The ways and reasons he's wrong are obvious, so they're not hard to account for, especially with plenty of other sources to reference.

I really don't think this is an unreasonable comparison, but my defense would be that Klein is still trying to grapple with reality. He's very obviously failing, but he's not saying up is down, even if he does have guests on that do, which has always been insufferable.
