Crewe is the ideal place for trainspotter-spotting. On occasion, I've seen more than 20 there, notebooks at the ready and well equipped with flasks and snacks

Yeah, I love Glory, and I'm a subscriber. My collection of their Country issues are in the pic, on the bottom shelf

The latest bookshelf re-stack, with the @theblizzard.bsky.social collection, moved to another bookcase to help accommodate recent arrivals.
I hope @jonawils.bsky.social approves

Yeah, the London Stadium is awful and not just because of the lack of atmosphere and shocking sightlines. It was designed for athletics and to be reduced in capacity after the Olympics and everything reflects that. e.g. no concourse or facilities on the upper tier, poor crowd flow at half-time etc.

Much as I love poring over football coverage in a traditional Sunday newspaper, I'm growing increasingly frustrated with @theobserveruk.bsky.social & find myself today reading @theguardian.com favourites like @jonawils.bsky.social @sidlowe.bsky.social & @jacobsteinberg1.bsky.social online instead
londonhibee.bsky.social
The results page(s) of a Sunday paper sports section should allow readers to leisurely pore over details of scorers, goal times and crowds as well as tables from at least the English & Scottish leagues, with ideally the results and tables from the top European leagues too

Hadn't previously heard of El Partido podcast, but based on this episode, I'll definitely be listening to more.
@paulmcgarraghy.bsky.social & Nick interview @cmrlee.bsky.social from @outsidewrite.bsky.social on Fascism, Spanish Civil War & Football. Chris explains nuances & dispels some common myths

Thoroughly enjoyed recording this with @outsidewrite.bsky.social!

Give it a listen and hear about football’s significance throughout the 20th century in Spain including the age before #LaLiga.

We discuss a wide range of stories, clubs, characters and the wider nuances of football and society. ⤵️

Need some commuter or weekend listening this morning?

Big thanks to @paulmcgarraghy.bsky.social and Nick from the El Partido podcast for having me on to discuss football before, during, and after the Spanish Civil War

Have a listen 👇🏼 #LaLiga

Great discussion on the latest @liberopodcast.bsky.social episode.
All the references you'd expect: W-M, pressing, Bielsa, Sacchi, Menotti etc. and some that you wouldn't: the decline of Faith, Nietzsche, Charles Darwin, "Pepism" compared to Peronism & the Ship of Theseus (aka Trigger's Broom)

The Dennis Morris exhibition at the Photographers’ Gallery is terrific. Some of the best pictures you’ll see of Bob Marley and the Sex Pistols in particular, and incredible series from 1970s Hackney and Southall. Free on Friday eves thephotographersgallery.org.uk/whats-on/den...
