Anyone else seeing a lot more new followers from North America but far fewer from the UK and rest of Europe? I despise Trump and his nationalistic bilge but my near exclusive focus on here is the campaign to start fixing the harm of Brexit and to secure a representative electoral system in the UK.

A disturbing incident in Hove today of a man smashing up the elite paint and decor shop.

Fortunately no-one was hurt, as police caught him red-handed.

I'm here all week. 😬😉

Because, since Brexit, political discourse on immigration has been going only one way? Because, having flirted with Farage, the Tories see he’s now beating them and are desperate to outflank him again? Because even Labour has to some extent dignified this awful narrative? Because the media have too?

An interesting one for members of minority groups who try to make their political home in parties which espouse right-wing populism. You may be accepted as useful idiots but there often comes a point when you’re treated as useful scapegoats too.

These new figures prove that when people are put at the heart of Oxford Street, the area thrives and businesses benefit.

That’s why I am moving forward with the next stage of my proposals to pedestrianise Oxford Street and revitalise the area as quickly as I can. www.cityam.com/oxford-stree...
Oxford Street pedestrianisation boosts sales, survey finds
Oxford Street was closed to traffic for eight hours on Sunday 21st September in a pilot test to fully pedestrianise the high street.

BBC accused of 'extraordinary' anti-Green bias after party say the Laura Kuenssberg Show scrapped a promised interview with @zackpolanski.bsky.social on Sunday.

Green sources say the show also refused to interview Polanski after he was elected as leader last month

#Kuenssberg doesn’t challenge Badenoch on the implications leaving the #ECHR will have for the UK’s trade deal with the EU or the Good Friday Agreement. Basically gives her free rein to talk about immigration to the exclusion of all other policy areas. Farage really has managed to dictate the tone.

The death wish predates Badenoch (however clueless she is). It was Johnson who began in earnest the Tory shift to the hard right and marginalized sensible moderates. Now, bereft of its centre-right USP, the party is condemned to imitating Farage miserably.

Labour embedded hard Brexit in its 2024 manifesto. No single market, so no free movement of labour. Pro-Europeans in Labour and elsewhere need to stop the attempts at cherry-picking and get back to first principles. You can’t simultaneously endorse a policy and decry its consequences.

They’ve been like this since Johnson. In thrall to the idea that policy need not be thought through as long as it’s radical or outlandish. And damn the consequences. Or blame someone else when it goes wrong. See also Brexit. What an awful party they’ve become.

The Tories and Reform have long used BAME representatives to avoid accusations of prejudice when peddling nasty policies. Labour joining the bandwagon is dismal. Has the government forgotten it also needs the votes of ethnic minorities and progressives?

But how do we know?

How do we know it's his true voice?

How do we know he won't be back to using a different one tomorrow?
