The absolute disgrace taking place today in front of cameras in the White House is yet another reminder that for all the talk of Joe Biden's failures, the people who failed America the most are our citizens. Empowering this guy (again) was a foreseeable disaster we'll be lucky to survive.

“Unusual.”

I mean, come on.

It is hardly unusual for Trump to ramble on about “personal grievances” and to “attack his political enemies.” It’s his essence.

Sure, he’s never done it before in the Great Hall of the Department of Justice, but that venue means nothing to him.

My two complaints about this coverage:

First: it wasn’t a row, a blow-up, a shouting match. Zelensky was rattled but calm, didn’t raise voice, only pointed out that Russia wasn’t to be trusted.

Second: if anyone was humiliated, it was Trump. He totally lost control, was shouting at the room.

Not much more than a peep here. What does that say about the kind of country we're living in? 🤔

Ah, just a little corruption of a SC judge! Feels almost quaint after the last four weeks... Good Times!
#ICYMI: We've added eight previously missing disclosures from Justice Clarence Thomas to our Supreme Connections database.

The newly added filings, which cover 1992 to 1999, reveal more than 100 gifts or travel-related reimbursements.

From budget hawks at the Peterson Foundation: GOP budget adds "trillions more in new deficits and debt. It allows for $4.5 trillion in revenue reductions, with only $1.2 trillion in offsets. All told, this plan would add more than $25 trillion to the debt over the next decade."

I just want to say for the record that when the history books are written centuries from now, I believe the election of Donald Trump in a free and fair election in 2024 will go down as one of the most senseless and self-destructive own goals in human history

This should be 25th amendment level conduct. The president ordered water to be released from a random dam in California nowhere near the wildfires and then claimed it would help. That’s literally Mad King behavior.

A particularly egregious form of accommodating, legitimizing, and normalizing power.

Not particularly surprising. But a good reminder that, as a default assumption, this is what we should expect from established elites - it’s how the system tends to quickly fall in line. It’s dangerous.
